I'm so glad you're here! My name is Danise Sumner, and I'm the owner of The Busy Bee!
I am a productivity coach, wife, dog mom, reading specialist and passionate educator.
When I have some down time, you can find me on the couch, watching my reality TV shows or reading a good book. I also love going out to eat in RVA, and listening to all things hip hop.
I'm a proud graduate of Longwood University with my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, and a Master's degree in Reading Education from the University of Virginia.
It all started when...
Over the years, countless people have come up to me and said, "I just don't know how you do it all." Or, "You are always so busy; how do you manage grad school, teaching, a business and a social life?!" People at work often tell me, "How do you get everything done during the school day? You're so good with your time!"
I've been a busy bee for as long as I can remember. My parents still talk about how I would wake up early "on a mission" to get things done.
However, my entrepreneurial journey actually began with network marketing.
After teaching for about 4 years, I had As I began to question if teaching would make me happy for the rest of my life, I started a network marketing business with Arbonne. As I promoted to district manager and led a team, I felt so empowered by the thought of having my own business, and loved coaching my teammates.
I began to realize that teaching and coaching go hand in hand. I loved working with people who WANTED my help, and wanted to grow.
After my Mom was diagnosed with cancer in 2013, and transferring unexpectedly to another school, I began to realize that life is too short not to step into your power and think big. These events triggered a shift in my thinking and perspective. Fear and regret were no longer allowed to drive the bus.
I began to think more about how I was spending my time and what my big vision was for my life.
I realized that I needed to devote more time to setting goals and dreaming big. When I made that decision, I got clear on what I truly want for my life. I listened to every inspiring podcast, and spent hundreds of dollars on books! Because of the changes I've made in my life, the books I've read, and the workshops I've attended, I know that anything is possible, and it's never too late to make a big change.
As I continued down my personal growth and development journey, I realized that my journey happened for a reason, and it was time to change lives.
With a leap of faith and support from my husband, I started the Busy Bee.
With Busy Bee, I am able to connect with others in a meaningful way, by giving them the tools and inspiration to effectively manage a "busy" life! I get to use my Master's in teaching to design effective coaching sessions and share my unique productivity strategies with clients.
I'm ready to serve you, and change the world. Are you ready?
